Ms. Ambia Johnson moved to Louisville, Kentucky four years ago with her family. She secured a dentist in the area to meet her children’s oral health needs, but states “they were more geared towards adults rather than children”. Shortly after Christmas in 2008, she received a postcard in the mail advertising Kool Smiles, Dentistry for Kids. She decided to give Kool Smiles a try after her current dentist recommended she seek out a provider who focused on children.
Ms. Johnson brought A’Miya, age 7 and A’Cadence, age 3 in first for appointments at Kool Smiles. Ms. Johnson, based on past history taking A’Miya to the dentist stated “I was prepared for a fight and ate my Wheaties that morning”. However, to Ms. Johnson’s surprise, A’Miya behaved wonderfully and cooperated with the Kool Smiles team. Ms. Johnson remarked “I wondered to myself ‘whose child is this?’” After her positive experience taking A’Miya and A’Cadence to Kool Smiles, Ms. Johnson decided to take all of her children, Ja’Len, age 10, Johnathan, age 9, A’Miya, age 7, Calvin, age 5 and A’Cadence, age 3 to Kool Smiles.
With each subsequent appointment, Ms. Johnson, found the same friendly, warm and professional environment at Kool Smiles. She remarked that she “loves everything about Kool Smiles - their techniques, the staff’s interactions with both the children and parents and how they take the time to explain the process and procedures to you . . . and that none of my children cry anymore when going to the dentist.”
However, Ms. Johnson states that the biggest impact Kool Smiles has had on their family is the work they completed on her son, Johnathon, age 9. Johnathon was born with medical needs, which require daily medication to maintain his health. Ms. Johnson explained that the medicine had affected the condition of his teeth. “Johnathon’s teeth were rotten out from the medicine. He would never smile due to being embarrassed by the condition of his teeth”. Over the course of several appointments, the Kool Smiles dental team replaced and repaired Johnathon’s teeth and Ms Johnson states “Johnathon has not stopped smiling since he came to Kool Smiles. Kool Smiles has changed my child’s life”.
Ms. Johnson and her husband Rodney couldn’t be more pleased with Kool Smiles. Each time they bring their children in, they come to expect and receive the same friendly service.
They state that Kool Smiles is the best dental office for kids. In fact, if A’Cadence could, she would go to Kool Smiles once a week!
