Kool Smiles offices are built specifically for kids and their parents. Every step of the Kool Smiles experience has been designed to deliver fun, caring dental service to our patients while at the same time providing convenience, comfort and peace of mind for our patients' parents. Our team takes pride in caring for our community by providing high quality, accessible, and compassionate dental healthcare.
Our friendly and professional staff takes pleasure in welcoming parents and their children to the Kool Smiles Office. A visit to one of our Kool Smiles Offices begins in our child themed, oversized waiting areas. Included in the waiting room is a children's play area including a colorful activity center where younger children can climb, slide, and explore. For the parents we have additional seating, reading materials, and access to local phone service. Parents can entrust their child's dental care to our team of dedicated and professional dental care providers. Located just off the waiting room are the Hygiene Viewing and Consult areas. It is here that parents may observe where children have x-rays, dental cleanings, and preventative dentistry performed. After completion of the hygiene exam, one of the Kool Smiles doctors meets with the child's parent to discuss the status of their child's oral health and options for any advanced or "operative" work that the child may require. We know that time is precious and in most cases, if it is agreeable, our doctors will offer to complete the additional services the same day. Our doctors make children feel comfortable and relaxed during dental operative treatment. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can be given during dental treatment to relieve the child's anxiety, if needed. Our doctors also use basic behavioral management techniques such as "tell, show, do" to make dental treatment a pleasant experience for both child and parent. Before any procedure is performed, our doctors explain and show the child exactly what will occur. Local anesthesia is also used to numb the teeth and gums to prevent pain during treatment. At the completion of the visit, a Kool Smiles dental professional again consults with the child's parent to give a detailed description of the work completed, provide after care instructions, issue prescriptions if needed, and answer any questions that the parent may have. All Kool Smiles offices are staffed with bi-lingual (English and Spanish) speaking PSR's and dental professionals. Kool Smiles also offers free translation services for additional languages our patients may speak. |
